I am selling "THE LONG SWIM" bracelet and cap for two reasons.  The first is to help offset some of the costs associated with putting on a swim of this magnitude.  I am incredibly  fortuna!te to have many sponsors who have assisted me in my pursuits to live my dream, however, selling the bracelet and caps will go a long way in helping  to pay for the final expenses such as crew food, boat fuel, and cost of the official observers - all of which none of this would be possible without.  The second reason is that having each of you wearing either the bracelet or cap (or both!) from now until I reach the beach at my final destination will inspire me more than I can put into words. The money raised through the sale of these wrist bands and caps will also go toward hiring observers to record and verify the swim.  It is important that there is an arms length distance between myself and the observers.  Instead of money coming out of my pocket it will come out of yours. In essence YOU are hiring a qualified person to make sure all rules are followed.  Their reports will be submitted to a group at the Marathon Swimming Federation to ratified the completed swim.
